El Clasico Preview: Lucho Enrique Must Prove Worth Against Madrid

He isn't a very good coach. Never was, and who knows if he ever will be? But I believe that everyone can change. Everyone deserves a second chance.

For Lucho, this weekend provides an opportunity for him to show that he isn't just a passenger on the Lionel Messi Barcelona train.

Barcelona have not been playing well, they are six points behind Real Madrid, and they have lost that air of invincibility they had last season. Now, when the fearsome front three don't click and explode as they did so consistently last season, it falls back onto Enrique for figuring out a Plan B to extract a win.

So far, there is no alternative. Enrique simply shouts out, look distressed and watches on as he hopes in vain that the South American three will bail him out yet again. That "tactic" used to work before, but as the saying goes: "Nothing lasts forever."

On Saturday, he is facing not only a rival, title-contender but a team who are unbeaten in all competitions and who are desperate to claim their first La Liga title in almost a decade.

It's going to be a game in which the travelling team aren't looking to sight-see and take pictures.

We all know what happened in the same stadium last season.

Enrique has to come up with something that Zidane is not prepared for. Right now, Zizou is prepping his defence to study the strengths and weaknesses of Neymar, the Cannibal and Messi, in order to restrict them as much as possible.

That's where Lucho has to get more out of Iniesta, Sergi Roberto and the other players who don't share the
same spotlight.

It's the kind of game where an unlikely hero can arise, and a win for Barcelona could potentially turn their season around and suddenly stop the Madrid momentum.

I have never been a believer in Enrique and have always said that it's the players who have brought the success and not him, unlike Guardiola. This weekend provides an opportunity for Enrique to really take a hold of the team, and show some tactical understanding to breathe some new life into Barcelona.

Because if Barcelona are as lax defensively as they have been in recently, then the sharpshooters that Madrid have, even without Bale, will punish them.

And a loss for Barcelona even at this stage of the season is unthinkable.
